MusiSHEans Festival
February 18-21, 2021
Launch of musicSwomen: association for female musicians in Saxony, Germany.
Annett Lipske and Beate Wein are delivering just the finest handmade music, radiating a special kind of humor underlayed with impressive musical skills.
Inspired by nature's vastness and its detail, Roosmarijn captures these elements in intimate songs, with dreamy melodies and an expressive performance. She turns rooms into experiences, supported by her viola, loop-station and an intriguing voice.
With two voices, a guitar and electronic and percussive sound elements Meryem, Steffi and Janda create an ambience that you can dive into. As soft as a bed after a long night.
Before the remarkable KID BE KID appeared on the scene, it was hard to imagine an artist playing four instruments simultaneously without a loop station, grooving and touching to the max and splitting her voice into several tones. She embodies coolness and vulnerability, structure and freedom, hip hop and jazz equally and makes everything in the room come alive.
Jacky's method of creating rhythm through tapping and beating her guitar, seamlessly blended with her haunting, elegant vocals creates the illusion of an entire band through a singular artist.
Julia Schüler’s playing touches her audiences with a multifaceted program consisting of Afro-Brazilian rhythms and melodies from the far east. Guided by her love for other cultures she dedicates her musical life to Turkish, Kurdish and Brazilian folk.
Stephanie is an active soloist and chamber musician, who has performed extensively around the globe, being invited to a number of festivals and concert series. She has released two albums, “Colours of Spain” (2015), and “Bach, the Fly, and the Microphone” (2009). Besides this she is a member of the renowned Weimar Guitar Quartet.
When you experience monkey & goat for the first time you might rub your eyes to prove if it’s really only two people creating this music. These two are exploring a new meaning for the word “duo” by making you hear guitar, bass, drums, harmony singing and Glockenspiel, no playback needed.
Yeore Kim & Antoine Boyer form a rather uncommon duo. With only harmonica and guitar their program consists of jazz standards, pop songs and original compositions, combining the legacies of Django Reinhardt, The Beatles, Toots Thieleman and many others.
Karl Die Große (DE)
The immense potential of this six piece band you can hear in every song. Incredibly colorful, unexpected turns within dazzingly beautiful arrangements - combined with Wencke Wollny’s disarming songwriting and singing.
